Greg Maddux won his 300th game today.
In the interviews I'm hearing now, he sounds more like Eeyore than ever. Paraphrased: "Why did you leave after five innings?" "I wasn't pitching very good." "When did you start thinking about three hundred wins?" "When I got to two-ninety-nine. I didn't want to get ahead of myself." "You didn't do any curtain calls?" "Well, it was their park. It didn't seem right."
We love you Greg. Thanks for coming back to the Cubs, so Chicago can share this with you.

Ideally, from a fantasy baseball perspective, one would have preferred his 300th win to be a bit more dominant statistically speaking.
But uh yes congratulations, now back to those complete games.

What I want to know is, when do we get the old Kerry and Mark back? Mark used to throw some complete games too...
And is Matt Clement *ever* going to catch a break? Another "no decision" last night, I think, after five fantastic innings. His ERA is lower than Wood's and Maddux's right now, and much lower than Prior's. But he can't win a game.
